General Motors is recalling 43,732 SUVs in the United States. A defect may cause rear wheels to lock while in motion, increasing crash risks.

The recall covers 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban models. It also includes 2022 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles. Affected 2022 Cadillac models include the Escalade and Escalade ESV.

A potential transmission control valve failure causes the issue. Dealers will install new transmission control module (TCM) software free of charge. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed the remedy.
