General Motors will discontinue Chevrolet Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD trucks by September 30, 2026. This move marks Chevrolet’s exit from the Class 6 commercial chassis cab market.
Production at the Springfield, Ohio, facility ceases this fall. The decision follows the conclusion of a production agreement with International Trucks.
Medium-duty sales fell 37.4% in the first quarter of 2026. Chevrolet sold 1,273 units during that period.
