Honda Motor Co. will delay mass production of its next-generation CR-V hybrid in the United States and Canada by several months, pushing the start to no earlier than April 2027. The delay reverses a recently accelerated timetable that had called for production to begin as early as February 2027.
The CR-V is Honda’s best-selling vehicle in the U.S. The new hybrid is central to the company’s strategy to focus more heavily on hybrids after scaling back its electric-vehicle ambitions. One supply-chain source said Honda has also slightly reduced the vehicle’s planned production volume for its first year.
The move comes as Honda’s global output has declined in recent months.
