KBR Inc. secured a consultancy contract for a major oil pipeline project in Iraq. The US engineering firm will provide services for a pipeline linking the southern oil hub of Basra with Haditha in the Al-Anbar governorate.
The Iraqi cabinet authorized the state-owned Basra Oil Company to sign the agreement. This project serves as a key internal link in Iraq's broader strategy to enhance national infrastructure.
The initiative aims to reduce reliance on southern Gulf terminals by diversifying routes to global markets. Iraq is also studying potential strategic export paths through Turkey and Syria.
