Mercedes-Benz Group AG reported a 6% year-over-year decline in global vehicle sales for the second quarter of 2026. Sales in the core car division fell 8%. This division delivered 417,800 units during the period.

A 30% slump in China sales primarily drove the overall downturn. The company attributed this weakness to intense local competition and the timing of product launches.

Regional performance improved elsewhere, with sales rising 6% in Europe. U.S. sales increased by 10%.

Global battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales surged 50%. The company sold 63,000 electric units despite the broader decline.
