Mercedes-Benz is considering a production suspension for its electric CLA model in China to manage high inventory.
Monthly sales for the electric CLA reached only 21 units in February 2026. March sales totaled 358 units. April sales fell to 52 units. May sales reached 161 units.
Total brand sales in China dropped to 25,699 vehicles in May. This figure represents a 34.9% year-over-year decrease. A sharp drop in internal combustion engine vehicle sales primarily drove the decline.
