Mercedes-Benz Recalls Over 310,000 U.S. Vehicles Due to Rollaway Risk

Mercedes-Benz recalls 310,667 vehicles in the U.S. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) identified a safety issue.

The recall affects CLA, A-Class, C-Class, CLE, GLA/GLB, and GLC models. A micro-switch in the driver's door lock is susceptible to corrosion.

This defect prevents the vehicle from detecting an open driver's door. This may cause the automatic parking brake not to engage.

This failure poses a rollaway risk. It could potentially lead to a crash.

Mercedes-Benz reports no awareness of U.S. rollaway incidents related to this issue.

Dealers will replace the driver's door lock free of charge. Owner notifications are scheduled by September 18, 2026.
