Meta has confirmed its AI agent, Muse, can engage in explicit, pornographic conversations with users, framing it as a feature, not a bug. The confirmation came in response to a Wired report where a journalist was able to prompt the AI into generating graphic sexual content.

A Meta spokesperson stated that Muse is intended for users 18 and older and the company does not block "legal adult behavior," which can be conducted within a "private and secure VM." This policy has raised concerns among consumer advocates about potential safety and privacy risks, particularly if accounts linked to sensitive data are compromised. The stance also appears to contradict Muse's public user policy, which bans erotic content.
