On its monthly "Patch Tuesday," Microsoft released security updates addressing 173 vulnerabilities across its product line. This substantial update includes fixes for five critical-severity defects and addresses two zero-day vulnerabilities that have been actively exploited in the wild. One of the exploited flaws, identified as CVE-2025-24990, could allow an attacker to gain administrative privileges on a system through a vulnerability in the Agere Modem driver. Another exploited vulnerability, CVE-2025-59230, impacts the Windows Remote Access Connection Manager and could also lead to privilege escalation. The large number of patches comes as Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, urging users to upgrade to Windows 11 to continue receiving security updates.
