OpenAI has announced Dots, a new class of proactive, always-on AI agents designed to manage tasks autonomously. The company unveiled them at its annual DevDay conference.
Powered by OpenAI’s latest flagship model, GPT-6 Astra, Dots run on their own cloud computers and can handle ongoing work without direct user interaction. Users can access the agents through ChatGPT on the web, mobile, and desktop, as well as through Slack and Teams.
Dots are rolling out to ChatGPT Pro, Business Premium, and Enterprise users.
OpenAI also introduced Pro 500, a new subscription tier priced at $500 per month. It offers higher usage limits and access to Astra Ultrafast mode.
The launch is seen as a direct response to similar agent-like AI products recently introduced by competitors such as Meta.
