Netflix signed a multi-year, first-look streaming agreement with Artists Equity, the production company founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The partnership focuses on developing and producing feature films specifically for direct-to-streaming releases.
Artists Equity will manage all creative and production responsibilities for the projects covered under the deal. This agreement expands on existing ties between the parties, including the upcoming thriller Animals directed by Affleck.
The deal remains separate from the production company's current arrangement with Sony Pictures, which prioritizes theatrical releases. Affleck and Damon described Netflix as a strategic match for their work due to the platform's connection with modern viewers.
