Bain Capital’s Bridge Data Centres has severed ties with Singapore-based Megaspeed. The move follows a U.S. investigation into Megaspeed for allegedly helping China evade export curbs on high-end Nvidia AI chips. Bridge Data Centres removed the firm from its Malaysian data center hub due to the probe.
U.S. officials are investigating whether Megaspeed acted as a conduit to illegally divert sophisticated semiconductors to China. Megaspeed is one of Nvidia’s largest customers in Southeast Asia. During inspections of Megaspeed’s facilities, authorities reportedly found a large number of chips still in their crates. Nvidia stated it has seen no evidence of diversion by Megaspeed.
