Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is purchasing NVIDIA’s next-generation DGX Vera Rubin systems to build the life sciences industry’s most powerful AI supercomputer. The system will utilize NVIDIA’s DGX SuperPOD architecture to improve energy efficiency and computing power. This move expands a three-year collaboration between the two companies.

The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by January 2027. It will provide 15 times more computing capacity than the pharmaceutical giant’s previous NVIDIA system.

BMS aims to accelerate drug discovery across oncology, immunology, and neuroscience by scaling its proprietary AI models. The investment is designed to shorten research timelines and enhance decision-making for advancing drug programs.
