NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has confirmed the company has completely lost its access to the Chinese market as a result of U.S. export restrictions. Speaking at a Citadel Securities event, Huang stated that what was once a 95% market share for the company in China has been entirely wiped out, and NVIDIA no longer includes the country in its future business forecasts. The statement highlights the significant impact of the Biden administration's export rules, which block the sale of NVIDIA's most advanced AI chips to China. Huang expressed concern about the long-term consequences of the policy, noting the risk of preventing Chinese companies from building their AI systems on U.S. platforms, potentially pushing them to develop their own independent solutions. This development marks a substantial shift for the chipmaker, as China previously constituted up to a quarter of its data center revenue.
