SK hynix started mass production of its 192-gigabyte (GB) SOCAMM2 memory module for AI servers. This module utilizes low-power LPDDR5X DRAM, a technology typically found in mobile devices.
The adapted module provides higher bandwidth than conventional server memory. It improves power efficiency by more than 75%.
SK hynix specifically designed this high-capacity memory for Nvidia's upcoming Vera Rubin AI platform. The development targets memory bottlenecks occurring during large language model training and processing.
