Valar Atomics Inc. raised $1 billion in a Series B funding round led by Sequoia Capital. The investment establishes a $6 billion post-money valuation for the nuclear startup.
The company develops small modular reactors to provide grid-independent power for AI data centers. This capital will transition operations from reactor demonstrations to volume manufacturing.
Valar recently reached a milestone by successfully powering an Nvidia AI chip with its reactor. This achievement led to a partnership to construct a 30-megawatt nuclear-powered AI facility in Utah.
Additional investors in the round include Atreides Management, Point72, and Snowpoint Ventures.
