RTX's Raytheon business secured a $745.4 million contract from the U.S. Missile Defense Agency on August 7, 2026. The agreement funds the production and assembly of Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA interceptors. Raytheon will supply these missiles to the U.S. government and Japan's Ministry of Defense.
The undefinitized contract allows immediate work on the fully assembled missile rounds. Completion is expected by February 28, 2031. This award highlights continued demand for the SM-3 system, a key component of ballistic missile defense. Raytheon will perform work at facilities in Arizona and Alabama.
On the same day, RTX also received a separate $536 million contract modification for its TOW Weapon System.
