Robotics software startup Skild AI has raised nearly $1.4 billion in a Series C funding round, bringing its total valuation to over $14 billion. The round was led by SoftBank Group and saw participation from several prominent investors, including Nvidia, Jeff Bezos's firm Bezos Expeditions, and Macquarie Group.
The financing also included follow-on investments from previous backers such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, and Coatue Management. Skild AI develops general-purpose foundation models for robotics, aiming to create a universal software brain for various types of machines. The new capital will be used to scale the company's model training and expand the deployment of its technology.
