SoftBank is considering a $30 billion investment in OpenAI.

The deal could push the company’s loan-to-value (LTV) ratio above its 25% self-imposed ceiling. CFO Yoshimitsu Goto confirmed the firm may temporarily exceed this threshold to pursue its AI strategy.

S&P Global revised SoftBank’s credit outlook to negative following the announcement. The agency warned the LTV ratio could reach 35% and cited potential liquidity risks. SoftBank is reportedly seeking a $40 billion bridge loan to finance the expansion.
