SoftBank Group added 21 new lenders to its $40 billion bridge loan syndicate. New participants including First Abu Dhabi Bank, Singapore’s GIC, and Standard Chartered contributed approximately $7 billion to the total.
The 12-month financing carries an interest rate of roughly 6.14%. SoftBank will direct $30 billion toward a follow-on investment in OpenAI via Vision Fund 2. The remaining $10 billion is designated for general corporate purposes.
This deal ranks among the largest financing arrangements in the Asia-Pacific region. The expanded syndicate reflects strong lender confidence in SoftBank’s aggressive artificial intelligence strategy.
