French music service Deezer released a free web-based tool to identify AI-generated songs on rival platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
The scanner connects to streaming accounts to report the percentage of synthetic music within user playlists.
Deezer aims to champion human artists and increase transparency regarding the rise of AI content.
The company reports that nearly 75,000 AI-generated tracks are uploaded to its service daily.
Synthetic music now accounts for over 44% of all new submissions.
Deezer claims a significant portion of streams on these AI tracks are fraudulent.
The company has used this detection technology internally since 2025.
Deezer is making the tool public because competitors have not yet addressed the issue.
