Spotify will launch physical book sales directly through its app this spring. The feature targets Premium subscribers in the United States and the United Kingdom.

A partnership with Bookshop.org will support the initiative. Bookshop.org will manage all retail pricing, inventory, and order fulfillment. Spotify will collect an affiliate fee for every sale generated on its platform.

This expansion intensifies competition with Amazon and its audiobook service, Audible. Spotify is also introducing Page Match to integrate the reading and listening experience. Users can scan a physical book page to synchronize their position in the corresponding audiobook.
