Samsung launched the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus with a focus on software longevity over hardware innovation. The devices feature either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600 processor depending on the region. Samsung committed to seven years of operating system and security updates for the series. The S26 and S26 Plus models also include modest increases in battery capacity.

The S26 series launched with a price increase over last year's models. Camera hardware for the S26 and S26 Plus remains unchanged from the previous generation. The entire lineup lacks built-in magnets for Qi2 wireless charging. Users must utilize specialized cases to achieve magnetic charging connections.
