Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles is considering further price increases as sustained high commodity costs pressure profit margins. Managing Director Shailesh Chandra said the company is still absorbing a “significant residual part” of the higher input costs while working to reduce costs.
The company plans to make any future price adjustments progressively, in smaller increments, to avoid a sudden shock to consumer demand. The announcement follows a price increase implemented in September.
Separately, the company launched the Aeris, a new compact sedan, on Friday. The model replaces the Tigor for private buyers.
