Tata Motors is set to launch the electric version of its flagship 7-seater SUV, the Safari.ev, around the 2026 festive season in India. The upcoming vehicle is expected to compete with rivals like the MG Hector Tomahawk EV and Mahindra XEV 9S. The design is anticipated to be similar to the internal combustion engine model but with EV-specific modifications such as a closed-off grille and new aerodynamic wheels.

The Safari.ev is expected to be positioned above the Harrier.ev, with an estimated ex-showroom price ranging from ₹22 lakh to ₹32 lakh. It will likely share the 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery options with the Harrier.ev, but reports also suggest a larger 80 kWh battery pack option to compensate for its size and weight. Powertrain options are expected to include both single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations.

The interior is expected to feature a premium JBL audio system, ambient lighting, and connected-car technology, with a focus on passenger comfort. For safety, the Safari.ev may be equipped with Level 2 ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, and up to seven airbags.
