Tesla has significantly improved its vehicle reliability, ranking in the top 10 of Consumer Reports' annual auto reliability study for the first time. The electric vehicle maker jumped to ninth place for 2025, a stark contrast to its 17th position the previous year and near the bottom of the rankings in 2022. The publication credited Tesla's focus on refining its existing models and its standout electric drive systems for the improved performance. This positive assessment from a trusted consumer advocate addresses long-standing concerns about Tesla's build quality and could enhance consumer confidence. The only model to receive a below-average score was the new Cybertruck. In initial market reaction on December 4th, Tesla's stock saw a modest increase of about 1%.
