Tesla has launched a new Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version of the Model Y in China, boasting an impressive CLTC range of 821 km (over 730 km WLTP). The launch was announced on Tesla's Weibo page and is aimed at bolstering sales in the competitive Chinese electric vehicle market. The extended range is attributed to a new 78.4 kWh NCM battery pack from supplier LG Energy. This new variant offers over 38% more range than the entry-level RWD model available in China. To further incentivize buyers, Tesla is offering benefits like a 5-year 0% interest rate and free transfer of Enhanced Autopilot for orders placed before the end of November 2025. The new model is priced under the equivalent of $A62,500, with estimated delivery times of 4-6 weeks.
