Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs approved a $20 billion investment for TSMC’s Arizona subsidiary.

This represents the sixth and largest funding round sanctioned for the company’s U.S. operations. The capital will fund the construction of a 12-inch wafer fabrication plant and an advanced packaging facility.

Total sanctioned investment for the Arizona project now reaches $44 billion. The approval is part of a broader move by the Taiwanese government to authorize major overseas expansions for local firms.
