Coca-Cola secured an exclusive beverage agreement with Marriott International, replacing PepsiCo.

The deal ends a partnership that lasted 34 years.

The agreement covers more than 9,800 properties globally.

Marriott’s network includes nearly 1.78 million guest rooms.

The changeover is scheduled to begin this summer.

PepsiCo had held the exclusive food-service contract since 1992.

The shift affects the revenues of major holdings within consumer staples ETFs like VDC.
