Vedanta Limited will invest over ₹21,000 crore through FY26 to expand metal production. The investment targets aluminum, zinc, copper, and nickel for the electric vehicle industry. This initiative aims to strengthen India’s domestic supply chain for automotive manufacturers. The company secured 10 critical mineral blocks to reduce the nation's reliance on imports.

Separately, the Supreme Court remanded a ₹5.25 crore SEBI penalty case to the Securities Appellate Tribunal. The fine relates to a 2014 share buyback program conducted by Cairn India. Vedanta currently manages Cairn India following a previous merger. The tribunal will re-evaluate factual claims regarding allegedly misleading announcements.
