Anthropic is expanding its infrastructure partnership with Google Cloud and Broadcom to secure multiple gigawatts of next-generation Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) capacity. This agreement scales access to high-performance chips for training the Claude AI model family. The deal responds to exponential growth in customer demand for Anthropic’s services.
The additional compute power will be primarily located in the United States and is expected to come online starting in 2027. This move aligns with Anthropic’s domestic infrastructure commitments amid intense competition for computational resources.
The partnership solidifies Broadcom as Google’s custom AI silicon supplier through at least 2031. Analysts estimate this relationship could generate tens of billions of dollars in revenue for Broadcom.
