NVIDIA and Corning launched a multiyear partnership to expand U.S. manufacturing of optical connectivity solutions for AI infrastructure. The collaboration supports the buildout of AI factories that require vast fiber networks to connect thousands of GPUs.
Corning will increase its U.S. optical connectivity manufacturing capacity tenfold. The company also plans to boost its fiber production capacity by more than 50%. This expansion includes the construction of three new manufacturing facilities in North Carolina and Texas.
The initiative is expected to create more than 3,000 new jobs. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated the partnership represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reinvigorate American manufacturing. This capital investment serves as a long-term growth driver for technology sector ETFs including VGT, XLK, and SMH.
