NVIDIA and Emerald AI partnered with energy firms AES, Constellation, and NextEra Energy. This collaboration will develop a new class of AI factories. The partners unveiled the initiative at CERAWeek 2026. These data centers operate as flexible assets for the energy grid. This design allows large-scale AI infrastructure to connect to power sources more efficiently.

The initiative follows successful power flexibility trials at five commercial data centers. The NVIDIA AI Factory Research Center in Virginia will host the first commercial-scale deployment. This launch will occur later this year. The facility will feature NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin infrastructure.

The partnership addresses the massive power demands of AI computing. The collaboration seeks to accelerate AI deployment by tackling energy bottlenecks. This project aims to strengthen U.S. leadership in both energy and AI.
