ExxonMobil and its Mozambique Rovuma Venture partners awarded the engineering and construction contract for the Coral Norte floating liquefied natural gas project. A consortium of Technip Energies, JGC Corporation, and Samsung Heavy Industries secured the agreement.
The new facility will add approximately 3.6 million tonnes per annum of production capacity. This expansion doubles the total output of the Coral hub in Mozambique's Area 4 to 7 million tonnes per annum.
The project utilizes an enhanced replica of the existing Coral Sul facility to streamline execution and reduce risk. This development solidifies Mozambique's role as a significant global energy producer.
