Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs approved a US$20 billion (NT$639 billion) capital injection for TSMC’s Arizona subsidiary.

The funds facilitate the construction and equipping of a 12-inch wafer fab and advanced packaging facility.

This project diversifies TSMC’s global manufacturing to move production closer to key U.S. customers.

The decision marks the sixth approval for the company’s U.S. expansion since 2020.

Total approved investment for the Arizona unit now reaches approximately NT$1.41 trillion.
