Airbus Defence and Space signed an authorization to proceed with Eutelsat on September 10, 2026. The contract is valued at approximately €1 billion.
The order includes 229 additional satellites for the OneWeb low Earth orbit constellation. Manufacturing will take place in Toulouse, France.
This procurement ensures OneWeb service continuity through 2034. The satellites will also support the European Union's IRIS² constellation project.
Eutelsat stated the deal does not alter its capital expenditure plan through fiscal year 2029.
