French airline Air Corsica grounded four of its seven ATR turboprop aircraft. Pilots reported suspected toxic fumes in the cockpit and cabin. Pilots experienced migraines and other symptoms during flights.
ATR builds the aircraft. ATR is a joint venture between Airbus and Italy's Leonardo. The aircraft feature new Pratt & Whitney engines. ATR and Pratt & Whitney launched an investigation to determine the root cause of the reported fumes. It remains unclear if the issue is isolated to Air Corsica's fleet or indicates a broader design flaw with the aircraft or its new engines.
