BYD plans to open approximately 20 dealerships across Canada by 2026.
This expansion marks a strategic entry into North America as Canada shows more receptivity to Chinese automotive investment than the United States.
The decision follows a Canadian policy adjustment allowing the import of up to 49,000 Chinese-built electric vehicles annually.
BYD is also reportedly considering the construction of a local factory to establish a long-term manufacturing presence in the country.
